Origin of the barriques:
QUERCUS PETRAEA: STRONG WOOD WITH EXCELLENT QUALITIES,
LIGHT AND PURE COLOUR. IT COME S FROM THE BEST FRENCH
FORESTS (ALLIER DEPARTMENT), FROM SPAIN, NORTH AMERICA
AND HUNGARY.
THE SPANISH REGION OF LA RIOJA IS FAMOUS FOR ITS
TRADITION OF WINES, LONG SETTLED IN OAKEN BARRELS. THE
HUNGARIAN BARREL PRODUCTION USES EXCLUSIVELY RAW
WOOD FROM LOCAL SESSILE TREES. THESE PLANTS GROW IN
THE NORTHERN PART OF THE COUNTRY, ON THE HEIGHTS OF
ZEMPLEN MOUNTAINS; THE FELL TAKES PLACE WHEN THE TREES
HAVE REACHED THE AGE OF 110-120 YEARS. THEY GROW SLOWLY
AND THE WOODEN RINGS ARE VERY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER.
DUE TO THIS FACT THE QUANTITY OF NOBLE MATERIAL IS HIGH.
THE WOOD IS CHOPPED TO ELIMINATE THE TENDER PARTS. THE
BENDING TECHNIQUE IS THE STEAM BENDING, THAT PRESERVES
THE AROMATIC FEATURES OF THE WOOD.
